From a summer house in my garden to a growing creative community

Hi, I’m Amanda — Founder of Balloon Gift Boutique & Events and Bobo Balloon Academy.

This journey started in a little summer house at the bottom of my garden.

At the time, I was working full-time in a school and needed something that was mine: a hobby, creative downtime and a space to switch off from the stress and pressure of everyday life.

I began creating Bobo balloons and sharing the journey on TikTok. What started as a small creative escape quickly became something I loved. Before long, I had outgrown the summer house and moved into a rented office space.

Within a year, I had outgrown that too.

Today, I work from my own unit, creating balloon gifts, event styling and bespoke designs through Balloon Gift Boutique & Events — while continuing to share, teach and grow through Bobo Balloon Academy.

I have always chosen to share

Early on, I was told not to share so much information on live videos. I was told to hold things back.

But I simply could not do it.

I have never believed in gatekeeping. I believe that knowledge should be shared, questions should be welcomed and people should feel encouraged to give things a go.

So I went against what others were saying — and I still do today.

I share the real side of my business: the wins, the techniques, the learning, the problem-solving and yes, even the blunders on live. Because nobody gets it perfect every time, and I think that is exactly what makes a creative community feel honest and supportive.

A community built along the way

As I shared, people started watching, asking questions and joining in. My following has grown naturally along the way.

It may not be the biggest following in the world, but it is huge to me — because it has been built through genuine connection, encouragement and people supporting one another.

No matter how much this grows, I will never change that.

Bobo Balloon Academy is built on supporting, encouraging and inspiring balloon artists at every stage of their journey. It is a place to learn, create, ask questions, build confidence and celebrate every step forward.

Always creating something different

Creativity will always be at the centre of what I do.

I love designing ideas that feel fresh, personal and different — not simply copying what everyone else is doing. From the smallest Bobo gift to a large event installation, I put thought, care and originality into every creation.

That is what I want to help others find too: the confidence to learn the skills, develop their own style and create work they are genuinely proud of.
